The special festival of Raksha Bandhan is globally popular to celebrate warm sentiments and emotions of brothers and sisters. This festival is embellished with lots of care and affection which epitomize the infinite love of a brother and sister. On day of Raksha Bandhan, sisters decorate their puja thali and put fancy rakhis, roli, rice particles, etc. They put roli on the forehead of their brother, perform aarti and offer sweets. They also tie the sacred thread of rakhi on their wrist and pray to god for bestowing him with good health and long life. In turn, brothers hold the spirit of day and promise their sisters to keep them happy and protect from all evils of life. They also give either cash or gifts to show their love for their sisters. The festival is also considered as a day to enjoy with all the family members. It invites lots of merriment in the family where everyone come together to celebrate beautiful occasion of Rakhi.
